Dynamics 365 Handover

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED

EDP received a global directive to implement Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM, replacing Salesforce, which was in use at the time. The goal was to ensure seamless integration with other Microsoft tools such as Teams, Planner, and Outlook.

The customization process involved multiple departments, including Legal, Controlling, Sales and After-Sales, Backoffice, Products and IT. The project was particularly challenging due to the high level of detail required in mapping existing operations and the extensive dataset that needed to be migrated from Salesforce.

Minsait was selected as the partner responsible for developing the implementation strategy and executing the project.

MY ROLE IN THE PROJECT

As a Scrum Master, I was responsible for managing the development team’s deliveries in alignment with the product team’s backlog priorities. My core responsibilities included overseeing timelines, ensuring quality, understanding team dynamics, and making sure the planned tasks were executed effectively.

During the final testing phase, I also played a key role in engaging stakeholders to test the solution in the QA environment. I coordinated meetings, scheduled each project phase, and managed releases based on EDP’s expectations, ensuring a smooth and well-organized rollout.

RESULTS AND ACHIEVEMENTS

The official go-live took place on October 24, 2022, followed by an in-house monitoring period of approximately one month.

  • 33% faster opportunity registration, achieved through process optimization and a thorough review of business rules.
  • Over 20,000 opportunities were successfully migrated between the two CRM’S.
  • Enhanced connectivity with Microsoft tools, enabling seamless integration and full utilization of Copilot, Teams, and Outlook.
